CARDIAU CYMRAEG

Cardiau Cymraeg is a local Welsh greetings card company who I have been working very closely with over the past 5 months. Cardiau Cymraeg was created by Nia, a talented young designer from South Wales. She, like myself, is very passionate about reducing plastic waste and being as environmentally friendly as possible, this is why the cards are not coated and completely recyclable, and she uses no plastic to package her cards and instead wraps a Kraft paper belly band around them to keep the card and envelope together, finished off with a beautifully rustic looking ‘Cardiau Cymraeg’ stamp in the centre of the band.

Whilst working with Nia we have been exploring a lot of the Pembrokeshire coast and the National Parks around South and West Wales. Many of the places around Pembrokeshire I had already previously visited myself, so I have been introducing Nia to the natural beauties that are scattered all around Pembrokeshire, and she is falling more and more in love with the area the more we explore and adventure to get the desired images of her gorgeous Welsh cards. The areas that we have explored together that I had not already previously explored have given me a new found love for the area that I live in, and made me realise what a lot of us here in Pembrokeshire do take for granted. There are many more destinations on the ‘To Visit’ list which are yet to be ticked off and we are both thoroughly looking forward to visiting in the near future, many of which I have not yet visited myself.

The next big ‘Cardiau Cymraeg X Jordan Lewis Media’ photography adventure is to Llyn Brianne which is a man made lake / reservoir north of the town of Llandovery, Carmarthenshire. This is a place neither of us have been to before but are both very excited to visit and take some images of Nia’s cards, and the lovely surrounding landscapes. Nia has been wonderful to work alongside and I look forward to continuing my work with her far into the future.
